DATRON is excited to announce an upcoming webinar, “The Future of Microfluidic Manufacturing: Precision, Efficiency, and Innovation.” This exclusive online event will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM PST (3:00 PM EST) and will feature industry experts discussing the latest advancements in microfluidic device fabrication.

Presented in collaboration with researchers from the University of Washington’s BCME Lab, this webinar will explore how CNC machining is revolutionizing microfluidic manufacturing by delivering greater precision and reproducibility compared to traditional PDMS-based fabrication techniques. The discussion will cover key strategies for teams transitioning to CNC technology, from design to CAM processing, and emphasize the importance of precision in experimental reproducibility. Attendees will gain insights into how user-friendly CNC solutions can accelerate research and development, leading to faster innovation and adoption in the field.

A highlight of the event will be a demonstration of the fabrication of a 2mm CandyCollect, a lollipop-inspired microfluidic device, machined on a DATRON neo. This demonstration will showcase the real-world applications of CNC machining in microfluidics, providing valuable insights for researchers and manufacturers.

The webinar will feature an expert panel, including Jodie Tokihiro, a PhD candidate at the University of Washington specializing in open-channel microfluidics and device fabrication using the DATRON neo, and Ingrid Robertson, a graduate student at the University of Washington instrumental in the development of the CandyCollect saliva collection platform. Christopher Hopkins, Business Development Leader at DATRON Dynamics with over 20 years of experience in manufacturing solutions, will also share his expertise.
